Subscribe to GM Authority for more Chevy Nova news, Chevy news and around-the-clock GM news coverage. An RLC membership giving access to quality exclusive models like this is only $9.99 per year. The models will begin shipping on or before May 19th, 2023. Purchases are limited to two units per Red Line Club membership and five per household, and as a limited-edition the Hot Wheels ’66 Super Nova will probably sell out quickly despite the limit. This fun, high-speed addition to your collection is designed by Larry Wood. The base model is a full-metal die-cast with a chrome-plated chassis and engine, with painted engine details. Light smoke-tinted windows give a view into a light blue interior. The details don’t stop there, with the Chevy Nova riding on Real Riders Drag Strip Demon race dish drag wheels with a Goodyear tampo on the rear tires. The color layout on this Chevy Nova harkens back to the Seventies and Eighties and the Southern California Pro Street scene. The sizzling color scheme features an incandescent Spectraflame Race Team Blue body color heated up with yellow, red, and orange stripes in a rainbow spectrum streaming along the sides. The Hot Wheels die-cast ’66 Chevy Super Nova honoring this hard-charging muscle car depicts a Nova with a blown engine and drag-racing stance. The auto was popular among street-racing enthusiasts. The Bow Tie produced just 3,547 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS cars with this specific powertrain. This enabled the Nova to go from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and do the quarter-mile in 15.1 seconds at 93 mph. The Turbo Fire 327 L79 variant used in the ’66 Chevy Nova SS developed 350 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque. The 1966 model year saw the Chevy Nova get a complete overhaul and redesign, while the Nova Super Sport (SS) offered a new optional Turbo Fire 327 CID L79 V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The original 1966 Chevy Nova launched the Nova’s second generation just as the muscle car era was catching fire back in the later Sixties. The Hot Wheels Red Line Club offers fans the ability to buy exclusive items – like this ’66 Chevy Nova – priority sales access, and use of a members-only forum among the perks of membership. ![]() Hot Wheels’ latest edition of the ’66 Super Nova is a Red Line Club (RLC) exclusive.
